Terms of Agreement
This agreement is in addition to the SpokAnthro Members “Code of Conduct” which you will be signing at the same time as this one. Please READ all of this document before signing this document:
To be a dealer: You need to be 18+ years old with a valid Washington State Tax ID and membership to SpokAnthro 2019, agree to the SpokAnthro “Code of Conduct” and agree to the “Dealers Den Terms of Agreement.”
To be an Assistant: You need to be 18+ years old with a membership to SpokAnthro 2019 and agree to the SpokAnthro “Code of Conduct” and “Dealers Den Terms of Agreement.”
General Conduct: We expect our dealers and their assistant to treat each other and the members of the convention with the utmost respect and to follow the rules set forth in the “Code of Conduct” and the “Dealers Den Terms of Agreement.” Please remember that all terms of the “Code of Conduct” still apply within the Dealers Den.
Assistants: All assistants must be registered as members at SpokAnthro 2019. Assistants must also be registered with the Dealers Den as an assistant for the particular dealer they will be working with. Only a dealer may register an assistant for themselves.
Badging Policy: In addition to the SpokAnthro badge, dealers and assistants will be issued a ribbon which grants access to the Dealers Den. To be behind a table or in the Dealers Den during setup hours, you MUST have one of these ribbons on your badge. If you do not have a ribbon and are found behind a table, you will be asked to leave the Dealers Den.
Hotel: Dealers are responsible, within reason, for any damage to hotel property and/or equipment loaned to them due to inappropriate use. Hotel property and equipment may not be modified in any way, including but not limited to: holes, chips, paint, glue or damage due to rough or inappropriate behavior. SpokAnthro, RAIn or Ruby River Hotel are not liable for any personal injury or damage to equipment or property caused by the inappropriate use of hotel equipment, such as falling while standing on a chair or table. Please use provided equipment responsibly.
Posting of Signs & Display Rules: Use of the space provided is up to the dealer, but certain restrictions apply. Each dealer is restricted to the use of the space on top of and immediately behind their table. Side stands may be permitted, but only with approval of the Dealers Den lead. You may not encroach on your neighbor’s space (including neighbors behind you) without their permission. Please be courteous. Displays that include lights (including videos with no sound) are permitted as long as they do not annoy your fellow dealers and/or attendees and are not strobe lights or similar. Dealers may only post items on the walls and floor using materials approved by SpokAnthro, RAIn and Ruby River Hotel. Specifically, only gaffers tape may be used on the floor, and only painter's tape and White tack (poster putty) may be used on the walls. You are responsible for any damages incurred by hanging items on the walls. Nothing may be hung on any door frames; doors themselves are reserved for SpokAnthro use.
You cannot sell or display: These include, but are not limited to: personal services (tattooing, body piercing and similar), unlicensed/bootleg merchandise, food and/or drink of any sort, firearms, flammable/incendiary items (other than candles, torches, helpers and incense sticks). Please note that candles, incense, etc. may NOT be lit for demonstration purposes. Scents and perfumes may be limited if the smells are overbearing and affecting other attendees. Any items for which the possession, sale, or crossing of state boundaries constitutes a criminal act are prohibited in the Dealers Den. Prohibitions enacted in the State of Washington, Spokane County or the City of Spokane also apply.
Adult Items: If you are selling adult items (this includes drawings of PG13+ and BDSM items, Toys, Personal Massagers etc.) you agree that it is your responsibility to ensure that minors do not have access to any adult items. This MUST be done by checking government issued photo ID before allowing attendee to look at any said item. Anything on display (visible to people near your table) must be PG-13 rated. This may include the use of stickers on appropriate areas. Other materials may be shown to specific people provided you have checked their government issued photo ID to ensure they are of legal age. Adult items can be (but are not limited to) items which contain exposed genitalia, representations of genitalia, breasts, depict a sexual act; depict realistic violence where the victim is shown to be seriously injured; depict any other content that makes it unsuitable for minors according to state or local law.
Additional Rules: You may not give your dealers table to another person, even if you cannot attend the convention. SpokAnthro reserves the sole right to approve dealers for the Dealer Den. You may not appoint an agent to sell your items in the Dealers Den. Only the person who is registered for the table and their registered assistant may sell at the table. You are not allowed to sell outside the Dealers Den under any circumstances. You also may not sell outside of Dealers Den business hours.
Clean Up: Please remember during cleanup on Sunday to clean the area around your table. Please pick up trash, collapse boxes and put them by the trash, etc.
Violations and Appeals: The SpokAnthro Dealers Den is part of the SpokAnthro convention space; as such, violations of conduct which fall under the “Code of Conduct” will be handled as indicated in that policy. Violation of the Dealers Den policies will be handled by the Dealers Den staff as deemed appropriate. If necessary, general remedies spelled out in the “Code of Conduct” may also be applied.
SpokAnthro reserves the right to amend this agreement without prior or posted notice.
